1.      IPHONE 11 PRO & PRO MAX

These two phones are really giving a tough competition to all the rivals. Though I am a bit biased when it comes to Apple products due to its reliability, durability, software updates support for almost 5 years & the value which it holds up in the coming years among the competition. 11 pro being 5.8 inches the smallest iPhone of this year is one of our best friends for our pockets. 11 pro max is the phone to go for if you want the bigger screen size and the best battery life on any iPhone also because of the removal of 3 D touch which leaves iPhone with less battery consumed.

WHATS NEW?

Basically, the major change in these 11 series is of cameras (additional ultra-wide camera 12 megapixels), in the design sector we can see an unusual design & removal of IPHONE written beneath the logo which seems sleek, removal of 3 D touch for battery improvements and screen tweaks like dim to 800 nits & up to 1,200 nits of brightness.

Screen

This is the smallest iPhone with a screen size of 5.8 inches. To justify the "PRO" title Apple has SAMSUNG'S display panel capable of reaching 1290 nits making the display ridiculously bright and making it smooth enough with a resolution of 2436×1125 pixels 458 pixels per inch. Though Apple likes to call it Super retina X D R display it is nothing but a marketing tactic which sounds bizarre. It can reach as high as 1200 nits and to bring that into perspective a normal phone can reach 800 nits also it can reach very dim at the lowest brightness and thanks to the efficient and most powerful chip on any smartphone its efficiency of GPU & CPU has increased to 15% from the previous XS series. It also has a contrast ratio of 2 million to 1. Though true tone is one of the most under-rated features it comes handy at times as it adjusts the brightness according to surrounding's temperature. Though every aspect of the phone seems to persuade anyone to shell out $1000 you may be unaware but it has bath tub looking notch which houses the front facing camera and all the sensors which lets you securely unlock your phone and there is no option to hide the notch due to one reasons the notch never will let you enjoy the immense experience of full screen display this year i.e. 3 year design cycle- Apple changes design of their flagships every three years. The other issue is not being able to switch to landscape in both the 11 Pro & Pro Max.

Speakers

The speakers are housed at two sides of the phone one is fitted in the notch & the other one is located at the bottom at the two opposite sides of the lightning port (charging ports). The speakers do not distort at maximum volumes. The sound quality seems to be better than previous models.

Cameras

The triple camera setup in the iPhone seems to justify the name pro. As of this year, main competitor in the camera sector i.e. google Pixel 4 does not have ultra-wide camera which allows Apple to win in this area. Talking about the photo quality all the photo seems to be rich in contrast, better dynamic range & the clarity in the photos are good. All the cameras are 12 megapixels though the ultra wide camera is trending and seems to at developing stage Apple seriously pushes the quality not only in photos but also in video quality by allowing all cameras to shoot at 4 K at 60 frames per second this pushes the boundaries. The new camera update which will come in 2020 will also let the PRO phones shoot at 4 K at 60 FPS from all the four cameras all at same time.

Design

From the iPhone 10 to XS to 11 series this year. In my opinion I feel that iPhone taking such a bold move to design in such a unique manner shows that Apple has not stopped to revolutionize the industries design language which every tech firm follows. I also think that iPhone have been designed this way to separate itself from the crowd of we look back some years ago numerous Chinese manufacturers were copying the camera array of Apple and many a times rational consumers were not able to distinguish which one is which so this time in the design sector apple has pushed its limits and has taken a big risk which worked out. Now almost no manufacturer has dared to take an influence from Apple's designs, though many believe this happened due to Jony Ive' s quitting the company who was the designer for Apple.

Colors

iPhone 11 pro series comes in 4 beautiful finishes- gold, space grey, green & white, every color here has a matte finish for not making the phones a fingerprint magnet. iPhone 11 comes in 6 different colors i.e. teal, red, white, black, purple & yellow, this only comes in glossy finishes to differentiate itself from the flagships as this does not cost as much as the Pro series.

Price

In Nepal, the price starts from NPR 157,000 for 11 Pro (64 GB storage) & for the 11 pro Max it costs around 180,0000. In India, the price for the 11 starts from INR 65,000 & 11 Pro and Pro max starts from 1NR 1,000,00 & INR 1,10,000  whereas in USA the pricing starts from $700 for the regular iPhone 11 & the 11 Pro version starts from $1000.

Built

The non pro version of the iPhone has an aluminum frame whereas the higher models gets a metal body frame which seems to feel more premium & heavier.

Chip

The iPhone 11 & the 11 Pro both comes with a A 13 bionic processor, this helps in GPU & CPU performances which compared from other latest Android phones which have 855 or 855+ & older iPhone in terms of performance is better as always the most powerful chip in the market goes to the iPhone series.

WHY SHOULD YOU CONSIDER/ BUY THIS PHONE ?

The main motive behind owning an iPhone is only 4 things -

1.       To enter the ecosystem & experience the latest tech in the market.

2.       Not satisfied by one's last phone & want a new experience in terms of software or incremental changes.

3.       Long term investment- For instance, when one purchases a phone and wants updates for   4-5 years and does not want to upgrade the phone for a long period.

4.       It can be as simple as to experience iOS & why so many people like it.

5.       Consistent camera- When it comes to performing in cameras iPhone never fail to put a smile on your face this time is no different even though against all the competitors this years it is getting difficult to compete but this phone has stayed consistent in performing even in low light this phone seems top notch- better than many flagships, not to forget this is the only phone you can get to shoot a high resolution from the ultra wide camera.

WHY YOU SHOULD SKIP?

1.       There is always a reason to skip iPhone one of the main reason is cause iPhone are always better next year what I mean is that they always get the  main features like hardware & software right but they seem boring because the software& hardware is almost the same and there are no much differences from the previous years for example 3 d touch was kept for 4 years and not it is discontinued

2.       They don't consider what consumers feel for example we can see so many apps being  updated very late for example Apple music was so bad that no one used it at one point but now it is slowly gaining more popularity there are various reasons for this but the major one of the is that the app was really cluttered and didn't have ease of use system in it, also there was much of an issue when it came to searching any song.

We can also see this in the colors, matte finish was requested by many consumers but Apple was too rigid & stuck with the polished shinny color but now in 2020 we can finally get what we asked for.

3.         Apple is too rigid with its software. We can all relate to this one cause we all know that they didn't give us the dark mode since these many years all the android phones had these features or could enable with a third party app but when apple did it this became  big highlight why? This cannot be explained also Apple is so rigid with its apps that it doesn't even allow direct download of song to movies to the music library also the icons size cannot be changed and I think when they bring this feature Apple fans will be too excited. 

WHY SHOULD YOU WAIT FOR THE NEXT iPHONE OR RUMORS ABOUT THE NEW iPHONE 2021?

1.       This can be said to be just a rumor but it is said that the new iPhone will bring a new design not exactly a completely redesign as it is adapting to the old iPhone 4 & 4 s this is bringing a new boxy design unlike the rounded curved corners on the sides. This is also said to bring a fourth sensor.
